XPS 15 9575 flashing CMOS battery diagnostic code after replacing CMOS battery

Question

I have a XPS 15 9575 that I just replaced the palmrest on. When going to start it for the first time the lights and fans came on, but it flashed the 3 amber 1 white diagnostic code for a CMOS battery failure and wouldn’t boot. I then bought a new CMOS battery and replaced it, but it still is flashing the same error code.
